Robust Performance Modeler for Next Generation Gravity Mission

Job Description:

In order to support the Attitude and Orbit Control System (AOCS), Guidance, Navigation and Control (GNC) & Flight Dynamics department, Airbus Defence and Space is seeking a Master student to derive a robust performance model for the paired flying satellites of the Next Generation Gravity Mission.

This role involves working on the NGGM mission, focusing on robust modeling, and developing a well-balanced model that enables the assessment of stability and performance. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to learn about NGGM mission, S/C systems engineering, formation flying dynamics, and probabilistic modeling of uncertainties.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Derive a robust model of the whole system, including parametric uncertainties.
  • Apply modern robust control techniques to address challenges in modeling, analysis, and attitude control design.
  • Develop a Linear Fractional Transformation (LFT) model for NGGM.
  • Perform robustness and sensitivity analysis of NGGM in science operation.

Requirements:

  • Enrolled as a full-time Aerospace Engineering Master student or similar field of study.
  • Very good knowledge of MATLAB / Simulink.
  • Very good knowledge of dynamics and robust control.
  • Desired knowledge in rendezvous applications.
