Master Student to Derive Robust Performance Model for Paired Flying Satellites of Next Generation Gravity Mission

Job Description:

In order to support the Attitude and Orbit Control System (AOCS), Guidance, Navigation and Control (GNC) & Flight Dynamics department, Airbus Defence and Space is seeking a Master student to derive a robust performance model for the paired flying satellites of the Next Generation Gravity Mission.

This role will involve working on the development of a robust performance model for the NGGM mission, which will enable the assessment of stability and performance of the system. The successful candidate will have a strong background in aerospace engineering and experience with MATLAB/Simulink.

The ideal candidate will have a good understanding of nonlinear dynamics and robust control techniques, as well as experience with Linear Fractional Transformation (LFT) models and probabilistic uncertainties.

As a member of the Airbus Defence and Space team, the successful candidate will have the opportunity to work on a challenging project and contribute to the development of a robust performance model for the NGGM mission.

Your Responsibilities:

  • Derive a robust performance model for the paired flying satellites of the NGGM mission
  • Develop and implement a Linear Fractional Transformation (LFT) model for the NGGM mission
  • Apply the derived LFT model for robustness and sensitivity analysis of the NGGM mission in science operation
  • Document the work and results

Requirements:

  • Enrolled as a full-time Aerospace Engineering Master student or similar field of study
  • Strong background in aerospace engineering and experience with MATLAB/Simulink
  • Good understanding of nonlinear dynamics and robust control techniques
  • Experience with Linear Fractional Transformation (LFT) models and probabilistic uncertainties
