Business Development Director

We are seeking a seasoned Business Development Director to spearhead our efforts in identifying, developing, and securing new business opportunities. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in strategic planning, team leadership, and forging strong relationships with partners, stakeholders, and clients. This role requires a combination of market insight and curiosity, excellent communication skills, and a proven track record in driving revenue growth.
The position is designed to take over the responsibility of the VP Sales, who is transitioning into retirement in the near future.
Key Responsibilities:- Develop and execute strategic plans to expand our customer base, grow our revenue funnel, and secure NRE/development contracts.
- Lead, mentor, and scale the business development and regional sales teams to drive organizational success.
- Build and maintain strong, long-lasting customer relationships.
- Partner with customers to understand their business needs and objectives.
- Effectively communicate the value proposition through proposals and presentations.
- Negotiate contracts and close agreements to maximize profits.
- Collaborate with internal teams, including marketing, operations, and product development to develop our go-to-market strategy.
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Sales, Engineering, or a related field; an MBA is a plus.
- Proven work experience as a Business Development Director or similar role in sales/marketing in custom technology hardware-related technology fields.
- Demonstrable experience in developing client-focused, differentiated, and achievable solutions.
- Proven ability to drive the sales process from plan to close.
- Strong business sense and industry expertise.
- Excellent mentoring, coaching, and people management skills.
