HVAC Design Engineer

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Technical Infrastructure Specialist to join our team at Amazon TA. As a key member of our Reliability, Maintenance, and Engineering organization, you will play a critical role in driving the design and implementation of sustainable HVAC and mechanical system solutions across our business units.
Key Responsibilities- Program Management: Develop, execute, and manage programs focused on the implementation of sustainable HVAC and mechanical system solutions, ensuring effective time management and personal impact to drive complex activities across the organization.
- Capital Project Oversight: Oversee the delivery of capital projects related to Building Management Systems (BMS), from scoping and design to construction and commissioning.
- Stakeholder Collaboration: Collaborate closely with internal and external stakeholders, including technology providers, customers, partners, and vendors, to deliver complex/cross-functional projects.
- Technical Leadership: Provide technical leadership on HVAC and mechanical system design, installation, operation, and maintenance, ensuring compliance with relevant regulations and standards.
- Project Management: Lead cross-functional teams, manage resources, and maintain project schedules and budgets.
- Training and Development: Develop and implement training programs to increase team knowledge and competence.
- Performance Monitoring: Monitor, evaluate, and report on the performance and efficiency of HVAC systems.
- Compliance and Risk Management: Ensure compliance with relevant regulations and standards, and participate in/lead Root Cause Failure Analysis (RCFA) to identify root causes of complex and/or repetitive problems.
- Continuous Improvement: Analyze operational data, KPIs, OEE, etc. to identify gaps and areas of potential improvement, and actively participate in design and implementation of Asset Improvement Strategies for systems to improve production and uptime.
- Education: Bachelor's Degree in an engineering or relevant technical discipline.
- Experience: Minimum of 5 years' experience in HVAC design, construction, or maintenance, with experience in managing multiple programs/projects and leading cross-functional teams.
- Skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with ability to understand technical air balance (TAB) reports and recommend changes to equipment settings.
- Certifications: Professional Engineering (PE) License, Certified Energy Manager (CEM), or LEED accreditation is highly desirable.
- Project Management Certification: Six Sigma/Project Management certification (PMP or equivalent).
- Technical Expertise: Proven ability to analyze and troubleshoot electrical control wiring and related BMS instrumentation, with high capability to adapt to tight deadlines and heavy workloads.
- Communication Skills: Effective interpersonal and communication skills to successfully integrate and align a multi-discipline team in delivery of projects.
