HVAC Design Engineer

At Amazon TA, we're seeking a highly skilled Technical Infrastructure Program Manager to join our team. As a key member of our Reliability, Maintenance, and Engineering organization, you will play a critical role in driving the design and implementation of our HVAC systems.

Key Responsibilities- Program Management: Oversee the delivery of capital projects related to Building Management Systems (BMS), from scoping and design to construction and commissioning.
- Technical Leadership: Provide technical guidance on HVAC and mechanical system design, installation, operation, and maintenance.
- Collaboration: Work closely with internal and external stakeholders, including technology providers, customers, partners, and vendors, to deliver complex/cross-functional projects.
- Team Management: Lead cross-functional teams, manage resources, and maintain project schedules and budgets.
- Training and Development: Develop and implement training programs to increase team knowledge and competence.
- Performance Monitoring: Monitor, evaluate, and report on the performance and efficiency of HVAC systems.
- Compliance and Safety: Ensure compliance with relevant regulations and standards, and review engineering designs & drawings, construction and commissioning documentation, and perform system inspections for construction quality, safety, and regulatory compliance.
- Maintenance and Improvement: Develop, implement, and support preventative and predictive maintenance strategies for new and existing equipment.
- Risk Assessment: Provide support for hazard evaluations and risk assessments to comply with applicable OSHA, EPA, and International Building Code requirements or methodologies.
- Data Analysis: Analyze operational data, KPIs, OEE, etc.
- Asset Improvement: Actively participate in design and implementation of Asset Improvement Strategies for systems to improve production and uptime.
- Education: Bachelor's Degree in an engineering or relevant technical discipline.
- Experience: A minimum of 5 years' experience in HVAC design, construction, or maintenance, with experience in managing multiple programs/projects and leading cross-functional teams.
- Skills: Familiarity with safety standards and regulatory requirements, including international building code (IBC), National Electric Code (NEC), ASME, NFPA, and ASHRAE standards. Experience with HVAC monitoring software, such as Niagara BMS for troubleshooting.
- Certifications: Six Sigma/Project Management certification (PMP or equivalent).
