Real Estate Auditor

As a Real Estate Auditor at METRO AG, you will play a critical role in ensuring the company's construction and real estate projects comply with internal policies, external regulations, and industry standards. Your expertise will be essential in identifying and mitigating risks associated with construction, occupational health & safety, and real estate activities.
Key Responsibilities- Conduct Regular Audits and Inspections: Conduct thorough audits and inspections of the company's construction and real estate projects to ensure compliance with internal policies, external regulations, and industry standards.
- Review and Evaluate Processes: Review and evaluate Real Estate-related processes such as Facility Management, Energy Management, and Leasemangement to assess their efficiency and effectiveness.
- Risk Assessment and Mitigation: Evaluate risks associated with construction, occupational health & safety, and real estate activities, and develop appropriate control mechanisms to mitigate these risks.
- Contract and Document Review: Review construction contracts, lease agreements, building permits, and other relevant documents to ensure compliance with company policies and protect the company's interests.
- Building Inspections: Conduct independent building inspections to identify OHS, construction, or functional-related risks for the operation of the properties and assess the risk.
- Process Improvement and Cost Savings: Identify opportunities for efficiency improvements and cost savings in the construction and real estate sector through process and procedure analysis.
- Collaboration and Communication: Collaborate with internal departments such as finance, legal, and construction to ensure a holistic and integrated approach to construction and real estate issues.
- Reporting and Presentations: Prepare reports and presentations for management to communicate audit findings, risk assessments, and recommendations.
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Real Estate, or Facility Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Experience: Several years of professional experience in the construction and real estate industry, preferably in auditing, construction, real estate, or risk management.
- Knowledge and Skills: Strong knowledge of legal and regulatory requirements in the construction and real estate sector, analytical skills, and the ability to solve complex problems and make informed decisions.
- Communication and Presentation: Excellent communication and presentation skills to articulate complex issues clearly and communicate with various stakeholders.
- Language and Travel: Proficiency in English, both written and verbal, and willingness to travel internationally.
