Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Workplace Health & Safety Manager to join our team in the Last Mile Business Sparte. As a key member of our WHS team, you will be responsible for ensuring the safety and health of our logistics teams across multiple locations. This role requires approximately 50-70% travel to these locations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the site managers in fulfilling the duties outlined in §6 of the Occupational Safety and Health Act.
  • Conduct risk assessments and identify areas for improvement in workplace safety.
  • Collaborate with other departments to implement safety and health concepts.
  • Develop and maintain safety procedures and training materials.
  • Provide guidance to employees and management on workplace safety matters.
  • Implement and enforce regulatory and internal requirements related to workplace safety.
  • Work closely with operational logistics teams and support functions (HR, Engineering, Facilities).

Requirements

  • Completed degree or equivalent experience.
  • Qualification as a Safety Officer under §6 ASiG or equivalent.
  • First-hand experience in occupational health and safety, as well as personnel management.
  • Excellent English language skills, both written and verbal.
  • Methodical, independent, and reliable work style.
  • Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).

Preferred Qualifications

  • Additional qualifications such as Waste Management Officer, Fire Safety Officer, or Management System Officer would be advantageous.
  • Knowledge of OSHA regulations is a plus.
  • Experience in leading project teams.
  • Open-mindedness and quick understanding.
  • Conflict resolution skills and confident presentation to management and employees, with excellent communication skills.
