Job Title: Medical and Scientific Expert

Description:

We are seeking a Medical and Scientific Expert to join our team at Gilead Sciences GmbH. As a Medical and Scientific Expert, you will be responsible for the medical aspects of Liver Diseases to ensure future growth of this asset.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Proactive and reactive medical-scientific communication and education to physicians and other healthcare stakeholders in the field.
  • Understanding the medical landscape in the assigned therapeutic area(s) and continuously gathering insights from clinicians and researchers to inform the medical strategy.
  • Development and implementation of an individual plan of action for the region.
  • Identifying and working with regional and national experts on various projects and other activities.
  • Assisting with Gilead clinical and real-world evidence studies, which includes collaboration with investigators and other personnel.
  • Utilizing scientific resources to deliver impactful presentations in a variety of different settings.
  • Contribution to the development of educational materials such as slide decks.
  • Traveling to appointments, meetings, and conferences on a frequent and regular basis, occasionally with short notice.
  • Presentation of scientific and clinical data internally and externally.
  • Establishing strong relationships with opinion leaders, clinical investigators, and providers at academic and non-academic settings.
  • Assisting with site selection for both phase 4 and other clinical trials.
  • Anticipating obstacles and difficulties that may arise in the field and resolving them in a collaborative manner.
  • Collaborating with Gilead personnel in Sales, Marketing, Clinical Research, Global Safety, and Medical Information.

Requirements:

  • Advanced scientific degree (e.g. MD, PharmD, PhD, MSc)
  • Previous experience as a Medical Scientist/Medical Science Liaison is preferred
  • Ability to embrace Gilead's patient-centric values, including highest ethical and compliance standards
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in German and English
  • Excellent organizational skills including attention to detail and prioritization
  • Scientific and/or clinical knowledge in LVD/Infectious Diseases/Virology/immunology will be beneficial
  • Full cognizance of all relevant scientific data
  • Commitment to continuing education to maintain knowledge base
  • Ability to work as a member of several teams that may overlap such as national MS team, regional sales team, national accounts, and others
