Job Summary:
ID International is seeking a highly skilled Safety Manager to support the Total Maintenance Contract for the Kaiserslautern Military Community. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing, implementing, and maintaining effective safety policies and procedures that meet corporate and government safety requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with corporate Quality & EHS to develop and implement a behavioral quality-based program, ensuring consistent practices and deliverables meet quality standards.
- Lead and guide improvement initiatives, making high-value improvements across the program.
- Implement corporate-sponsored best practices for safety and health quality assurance processes, developing and utilizing benchmark-based metrics, and maintaining reporting to ensure continuous improvement.
- Prepare, maintain, enforce, and update safety procedures to drive performance using ISO standards across all aspects of the Program.
- Conduct regular technical reviews of ongoing improvement projects and thorough audits of projects in the closure phase.
- Maintain accurate OSHA recordkeeping documentation and provide periodic updates to corporate EHS.
- Direct safety training and implementation.
- Prepare and submit functional area deliverables on schedule in accordance with requirements.
- Empower the workforce with stop work authority for safety breaches.
- Provide oversight to the program employee safety committee.
- Ensure compliance with policies and procedures and provide guidance on related disciplines.
- Seek, share, and assist in institutionalizing best practices.
- Establish and track progress toward meeting the goals and objectives of process improvement initiatives.
- Conduct audits and inspections to ensure compliance with DI policies and procedures and implement corrective actions as required.
- Participate in the identification and implementation of continuous process improvement activities.
Requirements:
- Certified Safety Specialist.
Language Requirements:
- English and German at level 4 proficiency: At this level, an employee is required to possess a high degree of proficiency in both written and spoken English, including the ability to translate the host country language into precise and correct English, and English into the applicable foreign language. On occasion, an employee at this level might be expected to act as an interpreter in situations where considerable importance attaches to proper word meaning.
Preferred Qualifications:
- OSHA Certifications.
- Familiarity with ISO.
Computer Skills:
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint).
