About the Role

eBay, a global ecommerce leader, is looking for an experienced Senior Backend Software Architect to lead the development of modern Python and Spring Boot/Java web applications.

As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for designing system architectures, defining technical roadmaps, steering technical decisions, and implementing code.

Your Key Responsibilities

  • ">
  • Mentor and guide junior team members, drive architectural decisions, and align technical decisions with the broader organization.">
  • Translate requirements into scalable software architectures, implement back-end web services using Python and Java/Spring Boot, and ensure delivery of high-quality software.">
  • Own major projects and features from design phase to coding, testing, deployment, and support.">
  • Become a domain expert in the complex ecosystem of compliance and payments within eBay.">

Your Qualifications

  • ">
  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or a similar technical degree, with 8 years of experience designing and developing highly scalable web applications.">
  • In-depth experience in translating requirements into scalable and future-proof software architectures, broad knowledge of design patterns and technologies used in designing web applications.">
  • Proficiency and hands-on experience in back-end development of RESTful web services using Python, Java/Spring Boot, and optionally GoLang.">
  • Working knowledge of tools such as Jira, Git, and familiarity with writing unit tests with mocking and DevOps practices.">

Compensation and Benefits

eBay offers a competitive salary range of $175,000 - $225,000 per year, depending on experience, plus a comprehensive benefits package, including medical, dental, and vision insurance, 401(k) matching, and paid time off.

This role can be performed remotely from the United States, excluding Hawaii and New Mexico.
