Sustainability Engagement Specialist

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Sustainability Engagement Specialist to join our team at CDP Worldwide (Europe) gemeinnützige GmbH. As a key member of our European team, you will play a critical role in engaging with European companies to reduce their environmental impact and promote sustainable practices.
Key Responsibilities- Engagement and Outreach: Develop and implement strategies to engage with European companies, particularly in the France and Benelux geographies, to motivate them to disclose their environmental data and progress towards environmental leadership.
- Supporting Companies: Provide guidance and support to companies on their key disclosure and scoring requirements for CDP's climate change, water security, and forest programs, ensuring high disclosure rates for all programs.
- Initiatives and Events: Engage companies to participate in CDP's key ambition initiatives, such as the Science-Based Targets initiative and RE100, and contribute to the organization of technical events in the region, including workshops and webinars.
- Lead Generation: Identify and generate leads for our membership programs, including Supply Chain and Reporter Services.
- Specializations: Develop subject matter expertise on specific sectors or environmental subjects, coordinate CDP Europe reports, and oversee the production of engagement materials.
- Ad-hoc Tasks: Assist with various tasks as required to support the team's objectives.
- Education: Minimum BA/BSc degree or equivalent experience (Master's degree preferred).
- Experience: 3+ years of prior work experience in the corporate sustainability space, with a strong background in CSR, environmental consultancy, NGOs, or similar.
- Language Skills: Excellent English skills (verbal and written – minimum C1 level); French proficiency is a strong asset.
- Skills and Knowledge: Keen interest in corporate sustainability themes and related company challenges; knowledge of and experience working with water security, forests, and/or biodiversity matters is an asset.
- Personal Qualities: Enjoy working with people and large corporations for a good purpose; excellent communication and negotiation skills; ability to interact convincingly with people at different levels of seniority and from different cultural backgrounds.
- Technical Skills: Strong analytical and creative problem-solving skills; love for data and information and utilizing it to drive change; knowledge of Microsoft Office (in particular Excel, Word, Power Point) and CRM systems.
