Corporate Sustainability Engagement Specialist

CDP - Europe is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Corporate Sustainability Engagement Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our engagement team, you will play a critical role in driving companies to reduce their environmental impact and achieve environmental leadership.
Key Responsibilities- Engagement and Partnerships: Engage directly with European companies, particularly in France and the Benelux region, to motivate them to respond to CDP's questionnaires and progress on their environmental journey.
- Disclosure and Scoring: Support companies in meeting their key disclosure and scoring requirements for CDP's climate change, water security, and forest programs, ensuring high disclosure rates across all programs.
- Ambition Initiatives: Engage companies to participate in CDP's key ambition initiatives, such as the Science-Based Targets initiative and RE100.
- Lead Generation: Generate leads for our membership programs, including Supply Chain and Reporter Services.
- Event Organization: Input and co-organize technical events in the region, including workshops and webinars, and contribute to CDP Europe's annual European Award Ceremony.
- Specializations: Develop subject matter expertise on specific sectors or environmental topics, coordinate CDP Europe reports, and oversee the production of engagement materials.
- Ad-hoc Tasks: Assist with other tasks as required.
- Education: Minimum BA/BSc degree or equivalent experience; Master's degree preferred.
- Experience: 3+ years of prior work experience in corporate sustainability, preferably in a CSR department, environmental consultancy, NGO, or similar.
- Language Skills: Excellent English skills (verbal and written – minimum C1 level); French proficiency is a strong asset.
- Skills and Knowledge: Keen interest in corporate sustainability themes and related company challenges; knowledge of and experience working with water security, forests, and/or biodiversity matters is an asset.
- Personal Qualities: Enjoy working with people and large corporations for a good purpose; excellent communication and negotiation skills; ability to interact convincingly with people at different levels of seniority and from different cultural backgrounds.
- Analytical and Problem-Solving Skills: Ability to take initiative, prioritize, and work calmly under pressure; strong analytical and creative problem-solving skills.
- Technology Skills: Familiarity with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and CRM systems.
