Job Title: Head of Project Engineering

Daiichi Sankyo Europe is seeking an experienced Head of Project Engineering to lead our CAPEX projects in the pharmaceutical industry. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for the successful execution of projects from concept to commissioning.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead the entire lifecycle of CAPEX projects, from concept to commissioning, ensuring timely and within-budget delivery.
  • Develop and implement strategies for the successful execution of Greenfield and Brownfield projects in the pharmaceutical industry.
  • Lead and establish project teams, including the development and coaching of direct reports.
  • Ensure compliance with quality standards, regulatory requirements, and safety and environmental aspects.
  • Manage budgets, costs, resource allocation, and project timelines to ensure successful project delivery.
  • Build and maintain effective working relationships with internal departments, external contractors, authorities, suppliers, and other stakeholders.
  • Identify and proactively implement risk mitigation measures.
  • Lead pharmaceutical qualification activities for facilities, equipment, and systems.
  • Develop and maintain project documentation, including project plans and specifications.
Requirements:
  • Technical degree in engineering or a related field.
  • Minimum 10 years of experience in project management, preferably in the pharmaceutical industry.
  • Proven experience in leading CAPEX projects, including Greenfield and Brownfield projects.
  • Strong knowledge of GMP regulations and quality standards.
  • Project management certification (IPMA or PMI) is desirable.
  • Excellent leadership, team management, and communication skills.
  • Strong problem-solving skills, strategic thinking, and ability to work under pressure.
  • Fluent German and English language skills, with willingness to travel internationally.
