Are you a seasoned development manager with a passion for Linux and cloud-native technologies? Do you have a strong track record of leading high-performing teams and driving innovation? We're looking for a talented individual to join our Garden Linux team as a Development Manager.

About the Role

As a Development Manager for Garden Linux, you will be responsible for leading a team of Linux experts in the development of our cloud-native open-source project. You will work closely with our stakeholder teams and the ORA community to ensure the quality, stability, and security of Garden Linux.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the Garden Linux development team and ensure the successful delivery of our cloud-native open-source project.
  • Collaborate with SAP stakeholder teams and the ORA community to guarantee cloud-ready quality, stability, and security of Garden Linux.
  • Continuously improve Garden Linux security, compliance, quality, and delivery processes to increase efficiency and reliability.
  • Foster personal development and growth of our diverse team members.
  • Represent Garden Linux in SAP events and open-source community meet-ups.
Requirements

We're looking for a highly skilled and experienced development manager with a strong background in Linux and cloud-native technologies. You should have:

  • Several years of experience as a development manager of highly skilled technical developers or similar role and environment.
  • Profound understanding of Linux operating system concepts and container technologies.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to identify, analyze, and resolve quality and people issues.
  • Understanding of software development processes and the software development lifecycle.
  • A curious mindset and willingness to explore new paths and challenge existing processes.
  • Knowledge of Kubernetes and its architecture is a plus, but not a must.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to work well in a team.
  • Fluency both written and spoken in English, and preferably in German.
