Tenure-track Professorship in Fluid-Structure Interactions

We are seeking a highly qualified and enthusiastic individual to fill a tenure-track professorship in the field of fluid dynamics. The successful candidate will be part of the Institute for Water and Environment (IWU) and contribute to the research and teaching activities of the department.
Research FocusThe tenure-track professorship will focus on modeling the interactions in various environmental flows, such as floods with moving, deformable, organic, and inorganic elements. The ideal candidate will have strong skills in numerical modeling by eddy-resolved numerical computations and complement existing numerical and experimental research activities of the institute.
Teaching and SupervisionThe professorship will strengthen the study programs (BSc/MSc) of the Department with competencies in the field of fluid dynamics and related areas. The successful candidate will be responsible for teaching and supervising students and doctoral researchers, with a teaching obligation of 6 hours per week per semester, if evaluated positively.
RequirementsApplicants should have an excellent internationally recognized scientific record as well as didactic capabilities in the field of fluid dynamics and related areas. They should be willing to collaborate across disciplines within the Institute for Water and Environment as well as within KIT.
Employment ConditionsEmployment is subject to Art. 14, par. (2) of the KIT Act in conjunction with Art. 51 LHG Baden-Württemberg (Act of Baden-Württemberg on Universities and Colleges) as well as to the Quality Assurance Concept for Junior Professorships and Tenure-track Professorships at Karlsruhe Institute of Technology (KIT).
