Tenure-track Professorship in Fluid Dynamics

Job Description
We are seeking a highly qualified and enthusiastic individual to join our team as a tenure-track professor in the field of fluid dynamics. The successful candidate will be part of the Institute for Water and Environment (IWU) and contribute to our research and teaching activities.
The tenure-track professorship focuses on modeling interactions in various environmental flows, such as floods with moving, deformable, organic, and inorganic elements. The ideal candidate will have strong skills in numerical modeling by eddy-resolved numerical computations and complement our existing numerical and experimental research activities.
The professorship will strengthen our study programs (BSc/MSc) in the Department with competencies in the field of fluid dynamics and related areas. The successful candidate will also be responsible for supervising and supporting students and doctoral researchers.
The candidate will execute university tasks with a teaching obligation of 6 hours per week per semester, if evaluated positively. In other cases, the teaching obligation will be 4 hours per week per semester. Applicants are expected to participate in academic administration and acquire third-party funding for research and innovation.
Requirements
Appointment will be based on an excellent internationally recognized scientific record as well as on didactic capabilities in the field of fluid dynamics and related areas. Applicants should be willing to collaborate across disciplines within the Institute for Water and Environment as well as within KIT.
