Job Title: Linux System Administrator

The Max Planck Computing and Data Facility (MPCDF) is a leading competence center for high-performance computing and data-intensive projects. We are seeking a skilled Linux System Administrator to join our team and contribute to the development and optimization of our infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Maintain and improve the MPCDF infrastructure, including Linux systems, data repositories, and cloud platforms.
  • Develop and implement DevOps procedures to ensure efficient and reliable operation of our data services.
  • Collaborate with scientists and researchers to design and implement solutions for data-intensive projects.
  • Ensure the security and integrity of our data and systems.
Requirements:
  • Good knowledge of Linux system administration and scripting languages (Python, Bash).
  • Experience with modern DevOps procedures and automation tools (Ansible, etc.).
  • Ability to work in a team and communicate effectively with colleagues and stakeholders.
  • Fluency in English and German.
