We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Postdoctoral Researcher to join our team at the University of Cologne. The successful candidate will be part of a dynamic and innovative research group focused on developing new immunotherapies to improve the treatment of severe bacterial infections.

About the Position

The appointee will be responsible for designing and modifying monoclonal antibodies that specifically target bacterial pathogens. This will involve working with state-of-the-art advanced multi-color flow cytometry and mouse models, as well as collaborating with medical and experimental partners.

Key Responsibilities
  • Development and production of monoclonal antibodies from patient-derived B cells
  • In vitro and in vivo validation of monoclonal antibodies
  • Development of novel therapeutic strategies
  • Supervision and training of junior members and technicians in the lab
  • Closing cooperation with medical and experimental collaboration partners
  • Presentation of data within meetings and national and international congresses
  • Publication of results in high-impact journals
Requirements
  • PhD in molecular biology, immunology, or equivalent
  • Strong background in molecular biology/immunology, microbiology, and/or biochemistry
  • Experience in state-of-the-art advanced multi-color flow cytometry
  • Experience in mouse models and/or BSL2 bacterial organisms are desirable but not a prerequisite
  • High motivation level and ability to work effectively in a team
  • Excellent English communication skills, both spoken and written
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent data reporting and communication skills
