About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced professional to join our team as Head of Business Development and Innovation at terralayr AG. As a key member of our Strategy & Commercial team, you will be responsible for driving the commercial definition and go-to-market strategy for our platform services and products.

Key Responsibilities
  • Sales and Business Development: Sell our flexibility products to asset owners and flexibility buyers, and lead the customer discovery process to ensure an in-depth understanding of their interests and derive actionable insights.
  • Product Development: Develop new Flex Products & Services, validate their innovation potential and business case, and steer their implementation process.
  • Commercial Strategy: Craft our platform products/services from the value proposition down to the commercial implementation, including customer contracts, service provider agreements, pricing, and regulatory frameworks.
  • Market Analysis: Funnel prospect and customer feedback to the product and development team on product and service features and roadmaps.
  • Collaboration and Partnerships: Define the go-to-market strategy of our platform services and products, and ensure our commercial setup is ready to deliver them.
  • Insights and Analysis: Test and validate our commercial hypotheses and derive insights that you translate into actionable options.
  • Contract Negotiation: Arrange and prepare the closing of selected key collaboration contracts with key stakeholders of our platform.
Requirements
  • Commercial Experience: Strong negotiation, contract management, and vendor relationship management skills, with a track record of successfully designing and selling energy products and services to B2B energy clients.
  • Industry Knowledge: Deep understanding of the energy market, including all relevant stakeholders across the value chain.
  • Analytical Skills: Strong analytical skills and the ability to translate complex issues into actionable outcomes.
  • Sales and Presentation: Superior sales presentation skills, with an entrepreneurial attitude and an insatiable appetite for closing deals.
  • Leadership: Energetic, communicative, and inspiring/convincing leader able to focus on both business and people.
  • Regulatory Knowledge: Knowledge of relevant industry regulations, standards, and best practices.

The over-indexing of electricity generation from renewable energy sources leads to large volatility on the energy grid.
