About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Fire Strategy Manager to join our team at Amazon Deutschland Transport GmbH - B78. As a key member of our Global Engineering Services (GES) pillar, you will play a critical role in developing and implementing a standardized approach to fire engineering strategy across the EU countries for our REI and compliance programs.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and manage a fire engineering strategy for Amazon's EU Fulfillment Centers, ensuring compliance with EU building codes and fire regulations.
  • Assist in the resolution of design problems, including performing field investigations, detailed checking of design, and coordination of specific design aspects into a project.
  • Conduct building code analyses, egress analyses, fire detection and alarm systems reviews, smoke control systems reviews, and basic sprinkler systems reviews.
  • Define and drive the improvement-oriented EU-wide standardization of the fire strategy for Amazon's Fulfillment Centers.
  • Carry out onsite assessments of the fire strategy in line with industry norms, during construction, post-construction review, and for the life cycle of the buildings.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of EU building codes and fire regulations (NFPA / EU equivalents).
  • Demonstrated knowledge of fire engineering principles and practices in industrial / logistics buildings.
  • Track record of solving challenging, complex permitting activities.
  • Outstanding written and oral communication skills to interact and negotiate with technical and institutional stakeholders, both internal and external.
  • Ability to build trustful relationships with private and public partners.
  • Fluency in English is a must, working knowledge in another EU language is required, Italian or German preferred.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Fire Engineering experience in EU countries.
  • Fire Engineering experience in Germany or Italy.
  • Knowledge in CFD modelling and application.
  • Working Knowledge of Sprinkler codes, design and installation.
  • On-site experience of Fire Safety Assessment.
  • Ability to travel throughout EU up to 40% of the time.
About the Team

The Fire Strategy Team is a small dynamic team that flexes between Performance Based Design and Risk Assessment to product assessment, legislative guidance, and development of complex equipment specifications. As part of a critical team, there is a large scope to enhance the Amazon building and Associate safety and experience.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor's degree
  • Demonstrated knowledge of EU building (Country equivalents) and fire regulations (NFPA / EU equivalents)
  • Demonstrated knowledge of fire engineering principles and practices in industrial / logistics buildings
  • Track record of solving challenging, complex permitting activities
