We are seeking a highly skilled researcher to join our team at the University of Siegen. As a researcher in the Faculty IV: School of Science and Technology, you will be part of the ETI/HQE research group and contribute to the development of machine learning algorithms for terahertz imaging.
Key Responsibilities- Develop machine learning algorithms for THz imaging as part of the DFG-funded research unit "Learning to Sense (L2S)"
- Collaborate closely with research groups involved in machine learning and computer graphics
- Develop adaptive methods for coherent 3D image generation to improve image quality and correct scene-dependent interference artifacts in the THz frequency range
- Create simulations to understand, model, classify, and segment interference artifacts from real scene information in synthetic 3D THz image data
- Prepare scientific publications and reports on results, as well as presentations at scientific conferences
- Support research and teaching, supervise and examine students, and assist with administrative tasks
- Master's or equivalent degree in Electrical Engineering or Computer Science
- Knowledge in one of the following fields is expected: machine learning, advanced programming skills, ultra-high frequency technology, or terahertz technology
- Experience in constructing experimental setups is an advantage
- Willingness to engage in interdisciplinary cooperation
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team, with very good communication skills
- Excellent command of written and spoken English
- Knowledge of German is desirable but not mandatory
- Promotion of own scientific qualification according to the Wissenschaftszeitvertragsgesetz (e.g. doctorate)
