As a key member of the AWS Commercial Sales team, you will lead our effort to deliver game-changing solutions to key AWS prospects and customers. Your responsibilities will include working with all members of the team to develop winning, innovative proposals, including written responses for RFIs/RFQs/RFPs (RFx).

You will have the exciting opportunity to create strategies to build mindshare and broad use of Amazon's utility computing web services (Amazon EC2, Amazon S3, Amazon RDS, etc.).

Your ideal candidate possesses demonstrated Enterprise-caliber proposal management and technical writing experience and leadership necessary to effectively support a high growth business.

You should have a contracts background that enables you to easily interact with legal staff, as well as a technical background that enables you to easily interact with technical leaders, software developers, and solutions architects.

You should also have a demonstrated ability to think strategically about the mission, product, and technical challenges, with the ability to build and convey compelling value propositions in a written context.

About the role:

  • Crafting compelling and persuasive proposals that effectively communicate the value proposition of AWS solutions to potential customers.
  • Collaborating closely with cross-functional teams, including sales, solutions architects, and subject matter experts, to gather and synthesize relevant information for proposal development.
  • Ensuring proposals are tailored to the specific needs and requirements of each customer, while adhering to AWS branding and messaging guidelines.
  • Managing the proposal development process from initiation to delivery, ensuring timely and high-quality submissions.
  • Continuously improving proposal content, templates, and processes to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.

About the team:

The OPCOE team crafts AWS customer proposals and documents in response to needs for Request for Information (RFI), Request for Proposal (RFP), Request for Tender (RFT) and Request for Quote (RFQ), collectively defined as RFx.

Support is also provided for unsolicited proposals. We partner with Private Pricing, Cloud Intelligence, Cloud Economics, Analyst Relations and other Strategic Teams throughout a pursuit.

Basic qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Finance, Economics, Computer Science, Engineering, or related field
  • Experience with sales CRM tools such as Salesforce or similar software
  • Experience using Microsoft Excel to manipulate and analyze data
  • Experience defining, refining and implementing sales processes, procedures and policies or equivalent
  • German language skills reading and writing

Preferred qualifications:

  • Experience working within a high-growth, technology company
  • Experience in finance, business management and sales operations
