Job Summary:

As a key member of the Marriott International team, the Executive Pastry Chef - Lead Pastry Operations is responsible for the overall success of the daily pastry operations. This role requires a high level of creativity, leadership, and attention to detail to ensure that all pastry products meet the highest standards of quality and presentation.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage a team of pastry chefs and cooks to ensure that all pastry operations run smoothly and efficiently.
  • Develop and implement new pastry recipes and menu items to drive sales and customer satisfaction.
  • Ensure that all pastry products are prepared and presented to the highest standards of quality and presentation.
  • Manage inventory and ordering of pastry supplies to ensure that all necessary ingredients are available.
  • Collaborate with the Executive Chef to develop and implement new menu items and promotions.
  • Ensure that all food safety and sanitation standards are met and maintained.
  • Train and develop pastry staff to ensure that they have the necessary skills and knowledge to perform their jobs effectively.
  • Monitor and control costs to ensure that the pastry department operates within budget.

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; 4 years of experience in culinary, food and beverage, or related professional area.
  • 2-year degree from an accredited university in Culinary Arts, Hotel and Restaurant Management, or related major; 2 years of experience in culinary, food and beverage, or related professional area.
  • Proven leadership and management skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines.
  • Knowledge of food safety and sanitation standards.
