Space Mission Planning Specialist

In the context of the Commercial Space Station initiative, your role will encompass the following responsibilities:
- Deliver expertise in Mission Planning to facilitate the design and development of operations for the Commercial Space Station, ensuring a cohesive and collaborative approach in the preparation of essential deliverables;
- Engage in the definition and enhancement of Mission Planning for the Commercial Space Station;
- Establish Mission Planning scenarios that accurately reflect the interfaces with Mission Operations, Engineering, and safety protocols;
- Innovate and identify a comprehensive set of tools to support mission operations;
- Provide contributions to the Training Process related to Mission Planning;
- Participate actively in program evaluations and reviews;
- Collaborate with various Mission functions and teams, including NASA, Commercial Crew Transport, and Cargo;
- Undertake additional responsibilities as required and agreed upon.
Required Qualifications
The ideal candidate will possess the following qualifications and relevant experience:
- A degree in aerospace, electrical or mechanical engineering, computer science, or a related field;
- At least 2 years of professional experience in the aerospace sector;
- Familiarity with spacecraft systems, subsystems architectures, and mission support methodologies;
- Proficiency in Systems Engineering processes and techniques, including Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) and tools such as CAMEO, as well as Requirements Engineering tools like DOORS;
- Basic understanding of computer-aided design;
- A strong capacity for rapid learning, proactive work ethic, and the ability to operate independently with meticulous attention to detail;
- Excellent communication and presentation abilities;
- Proficiency in English is essential; knowledge of an additional European language is advantageous.
