In the context of the Commercial Space Station initiative, your role will encompass the following responsibilities:
- Deliver expert guidance and assistance in Mission Planning to facilitate the design and development of Commercial Space Station operations, fostering an integrated and collaborative environment for the preparation of essential deliverables;
- Play a pivotal role in defining and refining the Mission Planning for the Commercial Space Station;
- Develop comprehensive Mission Planning scenarios that accurately represent the interfaces with Mission Operations, Engineering, and safety protocols;
- Identify and propose innovative mission support tools to enhance operational efficiency;
- Contribute to the Training Process by providing valuable insights related to Mission Planning;
- Engage in program reviews to ensure alignment with project objectives;
- Collaborate with various Mission functions and teams, including NASA, Commercial Crew Transport, and Cargo operations;
- Undertake additional responsibilities as required and agreed upon.
Required Qualifications
The ideal candidate will possess the following qualifications and relevant experience:
- A degree in aerospace, electrical/mechanical engineering, computer science, or a related field;
- At least 2 years of professional experience in the aerospace sector;
- Familiarity with spacecraft systems, subsystems architectures, and mission support concepts;
- Proficiency in Systems Engineering processes and techniques, including Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) and tools such as CAMEO, as well as Requirements Engineering tools like DOORS;
- Basic understanding of computer-aided design;
- Quick learner with a proactive work ethic, capable of working independently while paying close attention to detail;
- Strong communication and presentation skills;
- Proficiency in English is essential; knowledge of an additional European language is a plus.
