Postdoctoral Researcher in Evolutionary Genomics of Mammals

The Senckenberg Gesellschaft für Naturforschung (SGN) is a leading research institution in the field of natural history. We are seeking a highly motivated and talented Postdoctoral Researcher to join our team in Frankfurt am Main, Germany.

As a Postdoctoral Researcher, you will be part of the working group of Prof. Dr. Axel Janke, where you will be involved in gene flow, evolutionary, population or phylo-genetics to study speciation in mammals at the genomic level. Your research interests should include other vertebrate groups, and you should have a strong background in evolutionary, population or phylogenomics.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct research in evolutionary genomics of mammals, focusing on gene flow, evolutionary, population or phylo-genetics
  • Collaborate with the working group of Prof. Dr. Axel Janke to study speciation in mammals at the genomic level
  • Develop and implement new research methods and techniques in evolutionary genomics
  • Contribute to the development of research projects and proposals
  • Communicate research findings through publications and presentations

Requirements:

  • PhD degree in Biology, Genetics, Bioinformatics or a related field
  • Strong background in evolutionary, population or phylogenomics
  • Experience in genome assembly & annotation and programming of scripts, R
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills in English
