Postdoc Researcher in Evolutionary Genomics of Mammals

The Senckenberg Gesellschaft für Naturforschung (SGN) is a leading research institution in the field of natural history. Our team at the Senckenberg Biodiversity and Climate Research Centre (BiK-F) is seeking a highly motivated Postdoc Researcher to join our working group of Prof. Dr. Axel Janke.

As a Postdoc Researcher, you will be involved in gene flow, evolutionary, population or phylogenetics to study speciation in mammals at the genomic level. You will work closely with our team to analyze genomic data and develop new methods for understanding the evolution of mammals.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct research in evolutionary genomics of mammals
  • Analyze genomic data to study speciation in mammals
  • Develop new methods for understanding the evolution of mammals
  • Collaborate with our team to publish research findings

Requirements:

  • PhD degree in Biology, Genetics, Bioinformatics or a related field
  • Strong interest and proven skills in evolutionary, population or phylogenomics
  • Knowledge in gene-flow analyses and/or drift process are an advantage
  • Experience in genome assembly & annotation and programming of scripts, R
  • Very good written and oral communication skills in English
