Aviation Underwriter Team Lead

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct thorough risk assessments, including premium calculations, and ensure accurate documentation of policies, supplements, and invoices.
  • Coordinate with the EMEA Regional Office, presenting special topics and proposing solutions as needed.
  • Negotiate offers within authorities' scope and prepare for quality checks.
  • Develop individual coverage concepts for unique risks and maintain contracts, renewals, and executions.
  • Monitor market developments, identify sales opportunities, and propose new target groups and insurance concepts.
  • Collaborate with the Distribution team and sales offices for customer and broker support.
  • Manage broker relationships, plan customer appointments, and acquire new business.
  • Oversee portfolio management, anticipating renewals, analyzing performance, and tracking KPIs.
  • Lead team management, performance management, day-to-day organization, recruitment, and individual development.

Requirements:

  • Several years of experience in aviation underwriting, including claims handling, industrial insurance, environment, and international programs.
  • Ability to work under pressure, flexibility, teamwork, quick perception, initiative, and self-organization.
  • Business management thinking, profit-oriented, and cost-conscious.
  • Excellent communication skills, clear expression, and willingness to provide sales support and travel.
  • Leadership skills and very good knowledge of German and English.
  • Experience in people management and handling the MS Office package.
