Head of Engineering and Technical Excellence

We are seeking a seasoned leader to join our team at casavi GmbH as the Head of Engineering and Technical Excellence. As a key member of our leadership team, you will be responsible for driving agile product development culture, aligning strategies with our product vision, and empowering a talented team to achieve technical excellence in a fast-paced, agile environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Drive and Shape Agile Product Development Culture: Foster an environment of innovation, collaboration, and technical excellence within the engineering team.
- Collaborate with Product Leadership: Continuously refine and enhance agile team structures, ensuring alignment with the overall product strategy.
- Lead the Engineering Unit: Oversee a diverse team of more than 20 software engineers, covering areas such as frontend, backend, security, architecture, and infrastructure.
- Build and Manage Leadership Structures: Establish leadership structures within the engineering unit that enable further scaling of our organization.
- Set Clear Goals and Expectations: Drive recruitment efforts to attract top talent, manage the unit's budget to support growth and innovation, and act as a mentor and coach to foster a culture of continuous learning and development.
Requirements:
- At least six years of successful experience managing and scaling diverse teams in agile organizations.
- A strong track record in recruiting, developing, and retaining top talent.
- A proven ability to mentor and motivate software engineers working in cross-functional agile teams.
- Significant experience as a software engineer, with a deep understanding of software design practices, architecture, agile principles, and DevOps best practices.
- Fluency in English and a B2 level of German.
