About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Head of Engineering to lead our dynamic team in shaping the future of our SaaS platform. As a seasoned leader, you will drive agile product development culture, align strategies with our product vision, and empower a talented team to achieve technical excellence in a fast-paced, agile environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Drive and shape the agile product development culture, fostering an environment of innovation, collaboration, and technical excellence
  • Collaborate closely with the Product Leadership team to continuously refine and enhance agile team structures, ensuring alignment with the overall product strategy
  • Oversee a diverse team of more than 20 software engineers, covering areas such as frontend, backend, security, architecture, and infrastructure
  • Build and manage leadership structures within the engineering unit that enable further scaling of our organisation
  • Set clear goals, values and expectations for our engineering competence, drive recruitment efforts to attract top talent, and manage the unit's budget to support growth and innovation

Requirements:

  • At least six years of successful experience managing and scaling diverse teams in agile organisations
  • Strong track record in recruiting, developing, and retaining top talent
  • Proven ability to mentor and motivate software engineers working in cross-functional agile teams
  • Significant experience as a software engineer, with a deep understanding of software design practices, architecture, agile principles, and DevOps best practices
  • Fluent English and German language skills
