Your responsibilities
- Advise Uniper's global energy business on issues of national and European regulation.
- Actively review physical and financial commodity transactions such as power, natural gas, hydrogen, coal, oil, freight, emissions, green certificates, ammonia, and LNG for purposes of regulatory compliance.
- Lead or assist internal investigations and responses to internal and external inquiries in the area of trading compliance (e.g. regarding REMIT II or MAR).
- Play a key role in the continuing implementation of energy market and financial regulation requirements.
- Create and present live classroom and online trainings for front office and support colleagues.
- Coordinate with members of the Legal & Compliance team and all relevant stakeholders (e.g. Business, Risk, Audit) in helping to resolve day-to-day trading compliance issues.
- Assist with special projects as needed.
Your profile
- Strong academic background in law or economics.
- Minimum 10 years of experience advising in the industry or banking sector on issues of national and European regulations, particularly in the context of commodities or financial market trading.
- Specific experience in MiFID II, EMIR, and MAR, required.
- Specific experience in REMIT II and/or SFTR preferred but not required.
- Strong attention to detail, analytical skills, judgement, enthusiasm, and interpersonal skills.
- Good communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple initiatives simultaneously in a dynamic, fast-paced, global environment.
- Ability to take the lead and work independently on any responsibilities within the job description.
- Ability to interact with all levels of management.
- Excellent verbal and written command of the English language essential, German language skills desirable.
