Commercial Trading Lead

We are seeking a highly skilled Trading Lead to oversee the trading process and drive business results. Reporting into the Country Managing Director, you will work cross-functionally to build and execute a trading plan that delivers results for the business.
Key responsibilities- Develop and implement the overall Germany Trading Strategy, working closely with Commercial Directors to ensure full funnel plans for all KPIs that drive overall order performance.
- Manage and deliver upon the overall trading plan, collaborating with marketing, commercial, and delivery teams to align on how customer, commercial, and delivery plans pull together into a conclusive trade driving plan.
- Lead weekly trading meetings with key senior stakeholders, reporting clearly against performance to data and forecasted performance to come, and highlighting opportunities and risks to performance based on the current trade plan.
- Build and maintain a trade playbook, ensuring activity is retrospectively reviewed and measured against benefit to the business, providing insight into the wider business and building out a clear playbook in terms of trading levers, their effectiveness, and ROI.
- Work closely with the marketing team to be the single point of contact on the commercial side of the business, ensuring we are maximising supply-led customer plan activations.
- Previous experience within a trading role in an e-commerce or retail environment, preferably within a marketplace business, with a proven ability to achieve against set targets.
- Good working knowledge across Supply and Demand side functions, such as Marketing and Sales.
- Analytical skills, able to frame and drive commercial analysis and turn them into concrete insights, actions, and business improvement opportunities.
- Strong critical thinking with the ability to assess a situation logically and systematically to arrive at the most objective conclusions.
- Curiosity for opportunities to optimise trading performance, looking at latest insights and continuously striving to understand how trade activations performed so we can improve.
- Exceptional influencing and matrix management skills, with experience working cross-functionally and fostering a collaborative work environment.
- Strong commercial instinct and entrepreneurial drive combined with the ability to be innovative, take initiative, and calculated risks.
