GIZ is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Sustainable Finance Advisor to join our team. As a key member of our team, you will play a crucial role in supporting emerging and developing countries in their transformation of their economic and financial systems.
Key Responsibilities- Project Planning and Implementation: Plan and implement project activities in partner countries, including Brazil, India, Mexico, Peru, Rwanda, and Senegal.
- Technical and Strategic Advice: Provide technical and strategic advice to local partner institutions, such as central banks, financial regulatory and supervisory authorities, or government ministries, on sustainable finance policies and regulation.
- Knowledge Development and Training: Develop knowledge products and training materials for public and private audiences to strengthen awareness and capacity on sustainable finance regulation and policy and effective implementation.
- Project Management: Manage project activities, including budget planning and monitoring, drafting terms of reference, stakeholder coordination, management of contractors, quality assurance, impact reporting on project activities.
- Networking and Representation: Build a strong professional network with internal and external partners at German, European, and international levels. Represent GIZ as a sustainable finance expert in international conferences and workshops.
- Strategy and Operations: Contribute to the project's strategy, operational planning, impact monitoring, as well as the initiation of new projects and acquisition of project funds.
- Public Relations: Support the project's public relations work via internal and external channels (website, social media).
- Education: University degree (diploma/master's degree) in economics, finance, or a comparable qualification.
- Experience: Several years of work experience in the commercial financial sector, in financial market regulation and supervision, or in academia on financial market regulation and supervision.
- Sustainable Finance Expertise: Several years of work experience with sustainable finance instruments, policy & regulation, or in the area of sustainability risk management (e.g., climate change and biodiversity loss).
- Project Management: Several years of experience in project management in an international context, with work experience in developing or emerging countries highly desirable.
- Language Skills: Excellent command of the English language; proficiency in German and further languages at professional level (Spanish, Portuguese, French, Arabic) is considered an asset.
