Job Title: Sustainable Finance Advisor

The German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ) and the European Union are seeking a highly skilled Sustainable Finance Advisor to join their team at GIZ. This exciting opportunity is part of the Team Europe Initiative "Sustainable Finance Advisory Hub" and will support emerging and developing countries in transforming their economic and financial systems.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Plan and implement project activities in partner countries, including Brazil, India, Mexico, Peru, Rwanda, and Senegal.
  • Provide technical and strategic advice to local partner institutions on sustainable finance policies and regulation.
  • Develop knowledge products and training materials to strengthen awareness and capacity on sustainable finance regulation and policy.
  • Contribute to project management activities, including budget planning, monitoring, and impact reporting.
  • Build a strong professional network with internal and external partners at national and international levels.
  • Represent GIZ as a sustainable finance expert in international conferences and workshops.
Requirements:
  • University degree in economics, finance, or a comparable field.
  • Several years of work experience in the commercial financial sector, financial market regulation, or academia.
  • Experience with sustainable finance instruments, policy, and regulation, as well as project management in an international context.
  • Excellent command of English; proficiency in German and other languages is an asset.
