Rice Agronomy Program Specialist

The Division of Agriculture of the University of Arkansas is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented individual to fill the position of Program Technician – Rice Agronomy. This is a grant-funded position that requires the successful candidate to work closely with Extension Specialists in Rice to execute the overall Extension and research program.
Key Responsibilities- Assist in compiling, analyzing, and communicating research data
- Help plan, plant, maintain, spray, collect data, and harvest plots in rice and related rotational crops
- Supervise test plot maintenance and chemical application, collection of samples, test evaluation, and data collection
- Field sites will be located on research stations and production fields throughout the state
- Bachelor's degree in agriculture or related field
- Relevant work experience in small and large block field trials
- Familiarity with Microsoft Office applications and other relevant computer programs
- Proficiency in driving, maintaining, and operating agricultural equipment
The successful candidate will be required to work in a fast-paced environment and be able to prioritize tasks effectively. The position requires frequent travel to research stations and production fields throughout the state.
