Rice Agronomy Program Technician

This is a grant-funded position with employment contingent upon satisfactory performance. The Program Technician – Rice Agronomy will work with Extension Specialists in Rice to execute the overall Extension and research program in cooperation with other Division of Agriculture personnel and industry cooperators.
Key Responsibilities- Assist in compiling, analyzing, and communicating research data.
- Help plan, plant, maintain, spray, collect data, and harvest plots in rice and related rotational crops.
- Supervise test plot maintenance and chemical application, collection of samples, test evaluation, and data collection.
- Field sites will be located on research station and production fields throughout the state.
- A Bachelor's degree in agriculture or related field is required.
- Relevant work experience in small and large block field trials is preferred.
- Familiarity with Microsoft Office applications and other relevant computer programs is preferred.
- Proficiency in driving, maintaining, and operating agricultural equipment is highly preferred.
