Rice Agronomy Extension Specialist

Job Summary:
This is a grant-funded position with employment contingent upon satisfactory performance. The successful candidate will work with Extension Specialists in Rice to execute the overall Extension and research program in cooperation with other Division of Agriculture personnel and industry cooperators.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in compiling, analyzing, and communicating research data.
- Help plan, plant, maintain, spray, collect data, and harvest plots in rice and related rotational crops.
- Supervise test plot maintenance and chemical application, collection of samples, test evaluation, and data collection.
- Field sites will be located on research station and production fields throughout the state.
Requirements:
- A Bachelor's degree in agriculture or related field is required.
- Relevant work experience in small and large block field trials is preferred.
- Familiarity with Microsoft Office applications and other relevant computer programs is preferred.
- Proficiency in driving, maintaining, and operating agricultural equipment is highly preferred.
Working Conditions:
The successful candidate will be required to work in a fast-paced environment with multiple projects and deadlines. The position requires frequent travel to research stations and production fields throughout the state.
