The Artificial General Intelligence (AGI) team at Amazon Development Center Germany GmbH is seeking a highly skilled Senior Applied Scientist to join their ranks. This individual will possess a strong background in Natural Language Processing, Machine/Deep Learning, and Large Language Models.
This role will involve collaborating with a team of applied and research scientists to enhance existing features and explore new possibilities with LLM empowerment. The successful candidate will interact with a cross-functional team of science, product, and engineering leaders.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conducting research to improve LLM-powered conversational systems.
- Leading the design and development of LLM-based solutions for task-oriented dialogue systems across multiple locales and languages.
- Communicating effectively with the leadership team and colleagues from science, engineering, and business backgrounds.
- Providing research direction and mentoring junior researchers.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:
- PhD in computer science, machine learning, robotics, operations research, statistics, mathematics, or an equivalent quantitative field, or a Master's degree.
- PhD, or a Master's degree with 6+ years of applied research experience.
- 5+ years of experience building machine learning models or developing algorithms for business applications.
- Experience programming in Python, Java, C++, or a related language.
- Experience with LLM and deep learning methods.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- PhD with specialization in AI, natural language processing, or machine learning.
- Research experience on LLMs, foundation models, and multiagent framework.
