Senior Applied Scientist

Amazon Development Center Germany GmbH is seeking a highly skilled Senior Applied Scientist to join our Artificial General Intelligence (AGI) team. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for enhancing existing features and exploring new possibilities with Large Language Models (LLMs).

You will work closely with a cross-functional team of science, product, and engineering leaders to design and develop LLM-based solutions for task-oriented dialogue systems. Your expertise in Natural Language Processing, Machine/Deep Learning, and Large Language Models will be essential in driving the success of our projects.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct research to improve LLM-powered conversational systems
  • Lead the design and development of LLM-based solutions for multiple locales and languages
  • Communicate effectively with leadership and colleagues from diverse backgrounds
  • Provide research direction and mentor junior researchers
Requirements:
  • PhD in Computer Science, Machine Learning, Robotics, Operations Research, Statistics, Mathematics, or equivalent quantitative field
  • 5+ years of experience building machine learning models or developing algorithms for business applications
  • Experience programming in Python, Java, C++, or related language
  • Experience with LLM and deep learning methods
Preferred Qualifications:
  • PhD with specialization in AI, Natural Language Processing, or Machine Learning
  • Research experience on LLMs, foundation models, and multiagent framework
