About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Tax Manager Investments to join our Group Taxation team at Hannover Re. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for evaluating tax implications of investments in private equity, private debt, real estate, and infrastructure funds.

Key Responsibilities

  • Evaluate tax implications of investments in private equity, private debt, real estate, and infrastructure funds
  • Prepare tax returns in relation to investments
  • Collaborate with asset managers and other specialist departments within the Group
  • Support tax audits
  • Manage and coordinate external consultants
  • Optimize domestic and foreign withholding tax charges
  • Provide tax advice on internal restructuring activities within the Group and on matters of Group financing

Requirements

  • Several years of tax experience with a consulting firm, international law firm, or group tax department
  • Completed degree in economics/law or qualification in financial management
  • Sound knowledge of national and international tax law
  • Ideal knowledge of investment tax law, reorganization tax law, and tax rules governing controlled foreign corporations
  • Proficient user skills in German and English
  • Sense of responsibility, individual initiative, and flair for solution-driven thinking
