Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled Power Trader to join our team at EWE TRADING GmbH. As a Power Trader, you will be responsible for managing large power portfolios and developing profitable trading strategies.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Manage P&L for existing and new business in proprietary trading, focusing on the curve within assigned risk mandates.
  • Develop and implement profitable trading strategies, particularly in NWE countries, including Germany and neighboring countries with tradable markets.
  • Collaborate with other asset trading, portfolio management, and optimization activities to provide market insights.
  • Analyze the market environment, develop a market view, and communicate within the company.
  • Lead the development of trade-relevant processes and IT, as well as the implementation of new products and markets.

Requirements:

  • Advanced degree in natural science, engineering, or economics.
  • Several years of experience in managing large power or cross-commodity portfolios, particularly in proprietary trading, with an above-average P&L track record.
  • Broad knowledge and experience with Power and cross-commodity trading strategies.
  • Ability to explain and communicate the impact of price changes on position value.
  • Expertise in object-oriented programming languages, such as Python, is advantageous.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Entrepreneurial attitude, strong willingness to perform and learn, and a hands-on mentality.
  • Resilient and able to work in a team, with a willingness to understand team needs and develop ideas to meet team objectives.
  • Very good English skills, with German being an advantage.
