About EWE TRADING GmbH
EWE TRADING GmbH is a leading energy trading company in Germany, handling the energy trading activities of the EWE Group and acting as the Group's interface to the wholesale markets for energy and natural gas and emissions rights.
We're looking for a talented Gas Trader to join our team and contribute to our success story.
Your Key Responsibilities
- Manage profit and loss (P&L) for existing and new business in proprietary trading, focusing on the curve within assigned risk mandates.
- Develop and implement profitable trading strategies with a focus on NWE countries, especially TTF, including location-spreads covering NWE Natural Gas mainly in TTF and THE Markets.
- Support other asset trading, portfolio management, and optimization activities within the company by providing market insights through active collaboration.
- Analyze the market environment, develop a market view, and communicate within the company.
- Lead the continuous development of trade-relevant processes and IT, as well as the implementation of new products and markets.
Your Ideal Profile
- Advanced degree in natural science, engineering, or economics (diploma or master).
- Several years of experience in managing large gas or cross-commodity portfolios, particularly in proprietary trading, with an above-average P&L track record.
- Broad knowledge and experience with gas and/or cross-commodity trading strategies.
- Ability to explain and communicate the impact of price changes on position value.
- Expertise in object-oriented programming languages, such as Python, is advantageous.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Entrepreneurial attitude, strong willingness to perform and learn, and a hands-on mentality.
- Resilient and enjoy working in a team, with the ability to understand team needs and develop ideas to meet team objectives.
- Very good English skills.
