Job Summary

The Regional Workplace Health and Safety (WHS) Manager will be responsible for partnering with a regional operations team in our Amazon Heavy & Bulky (AMXL) Network to execute company WHS policies and ensure compliance to all applicable health and safety regulations.

By leveraging principles of modern day safety science, this individual will lead continuous improvement initiatives and influence operational leaders and support their teams to 'operationalise' safety to reduce safety risk in our processes, supporting the provision of a safe and healthy working environment for our Associates.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide guidance and oversight to assure compliance to all applicable Amazon WHS Policies.
  • Measure the regions and sites' performance against published requirements in WHS policies and identify improvement plans for the site to close all identified gaps.
  • Ensure WHS record keeping and data integrity and provides operations with accurate reporting (lead and lag) metrics to support business WHS initiatives.
  • Deliver projects on time to a high standard with operations.
  • Analyse WHS metrics to identify trends to justify the allocation of appropriate resources to areas where the safety risk is highest.
  • Partner with corporate and other regional field WHS personnel to leverage global WHS best practices into EU/UK network standards.
Requirements
  • Several years' of increasing responsibilities in health and safety programs in manufacturing, production, or service operations.
  • BSc in safety, ergonomics or a related field required.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including comfort interfacing with Directors and VPs.
  • Ability to develop and implement department goals and strategies based on broader organisation goals.
  • Strong analytical skills with demonstrated problem solving ability.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Health and Safety, Master's degree or equivalent preferred.
  • Chartered Member of IOSH preferred (or equivalent), working towards will be considered.
  • Experience in a fast-paced, changing/growing organization.
  • Handle changing priorities, able to work with ambiguity and use of good judgment in high paced environment.
