Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled Game Engine Programmer (m/f/d) to join our team at THQ Nordic. As a key member of our engine development team, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining in-house tools and low-level engine systems.

About the Role:

As a Game Engine Programmer, you will work closely with our development teams to plan and build new tools and technology features. You will be responsible for ensuring the reliability and stability of our editor codebase, creating documentation, and providing support and training to our game development teams.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and maintain in-house tools used by our development team
  • Work closely with leads and other engineers to plan and build new tools and technology features
  • Monitor performance and memory usage and plan and execute performance and memory optimizations
  • Develop other game, editor, tools, or infrastructure features as required
  • Collaborate with other engineers, designers, artists, and IT personnel

Requirements:

  • Excellent C++ programming and systems design skills
  • Skills and experience in C# and/or Qt a plus
  • Knowledge of modern tool development
  • Understanding of user experience principles
  • Deep understanding of game development pipelines and workflows
  • Understanding of art creation processes for animation
  • Ability to adjust to an existing codebase and standards
  • Experience with modern commercial game engines/frameworks
  • Proactive, autonomous, and self-motivated
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Fluent in written and spoken English
