Position Overview
Your Career
The Solutions Consultant Manager role represents an evolution of the traditional Sales Engineer Manager position, focusing on how we lead teams to effectively assist our clients in understanding their environments, offering solution guidance, and ensuring they realize the value of their investments with Palo Alto Networks.
As the Solutions Consultant Manager, you will serve as the technical leader for the Solutions Consulting team dedicated to Strategic Automotive and Manufacturing clients. Collaborating closely with the District Sales Manager, you and your team will cultivate relationships with clients, aiming to help them detect and thwart advanced cyber threats. Your expertise will guide clients in selecting the appropriate applications from our platform, ensuring they remain ahead of emerging cyber threats.
In your capacity as the technical leader for your designated territory, you will mentor and develop your team to craft innovative technical solutions that secure critical business objectives and maximize the value of their investments with Palo Alto Networks. You will advocate for our industry leadership in on-premises, cloud, and security operations services, positioning Palo Alto Networks as the preferred cybersecurity partner for your clients. Additionally, you will foster talent within your team and provide insightful feedback to the product management team regarding new feature requests and product enhancements based on customer interactions.
Your Contributions
- Recruit and onboard new Solutions Consultants, ensuring the acquisition of top industry talent.
- Oversee training, mentoring, and performance reviews for your team, promoting engagement and career success.
- Assist field Solutions Consultant teams in navigating complex evaluations and challenging client environments.
- Lead and coach your team on effective technical validation efforts, adhering to best practices to secure technical wins in assigned opportunities.
- Develop and monitor individual development plans for team members.
- Collaborate closely with Professional Services, Customer Success, and Specialist teams to ensure comprehensive customer implementation and solution adoption.
- Provide effective technical leadership during customer interactions, sharing security trends and best practices employed by other clients.
- Drive Palo Alto Networks Platformization initiatives within your accounts.
- Work in conjunction with the Domain Consultant Manager to optimize resource utilization and align necessary resources with ongoing projects.
- Serve as an escalation point, collaborating with pre-sales and post-sales teams to address any issues that arise.
- Cultivate and maintain relationships with key clients to solidify reference accounts and assist account teams in developing strategies to drive additional business.
- Present as an expert to clients at all levels, from technical staff to executive leadership.
- Analyze competitor products in the market and position ours as the superior alternative.
- Collaborate with Product Management, Technical Marketing, and R&D to define requirements and product features for our large clients, providing valuable customer feedback.
- Expect to travel 30-50% within the region.
Qualifications
Your Background
- Proven experience as a pre-sales System Engineer Manager or in a similar role, engaging in technical strategic initiatives with large clients.
- Comprehensive knowledge of security product market trends and an understanding of our roadmap and technology development efforts; familiarity with competitor offerings is advantageous.
- Experience partnering with Customer Support functions to ensure successful implementation and adoption of sold solutions.
- Demonstrated success as a people manager for seasoned professionals.
- Excellent communication (both written and verbal) and presentation skills.
- A results-driven mindset focused on delivering the best solutions for clients as a trusted advisor.
- Proficiency in business-level German and English.
