Position: Gastronomy Operations Manager- Full- or Part-time
- Location: Essen, Germany
- Experience Required
We are looking for an experienced professional to manage the Bistro operations within a retail environment. This Bistro, situated in the heart of Essen, features both indoor and outdoor seating for approximately 50 guests. Our mission is to deliver a fresh and varied menu that emphasizes local, ecological, and sustainable ingredients.
Your primary responsibility will be to mentor and assist long-term unemployed individuals in acquiring practical skills for successful job market integration. You will instruct on food preparation methods, oversee sales operations, and collaborate with social service professionals.
Key Responsibilities- Instruct on food preparation techniques
- Manage sales and production workflows
- Serve food and beverages
- Work in partnership with social service professionals
- Evaluate participants' skills
- Document outcomes and processes
- Coordinate with clients
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations
- Certification in Gastronomy, Restaurant Management, or Culinary Arts
- Prior teaching experience is advantageous
- Strong communication and teamwork abilities
- Customer-oriented and service-focused
- Proficient in Excel and Word
- Driver's license is a plus
- Alignment with the values of the Evangelical Church and Diakonie
