Postdoctoral Researcher in Robotic Fabrication for Construction

The University of Kassel is seeking a highly motivated Postdoc to join our research team in advancing sustainable digitalization in architecture and construction through bio-fabrication.
Job Summary:We are looking for a Postdoc to work on developing a new, unique robotic biofabrication infrastructure, exploring novel bio-materials, re-use of waste materials, and bio-joining, and developing modular soft- and hardware for design and fabrication.
Responsibilities:- Develop and execute experiments in robotic fabrication and biofabrication
- Design and build biofabrication prototypes
- Analyze data using simulation and machine learning to predict and program material behavior
- Work on designing and fabricating processes with biomaterials and advanced robotic fabrication equipment
- PhD in areas Architecture, Engineering or other related fields, with a particular focus on digital fabrication, robotics, and/or bio-based materials
- Strong technical skills, including expertise in computational design, digital fabrication, robotics and tool-design, and biofabrication
- Excellent written and spoken English communication skills
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment
