About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Backend Developer to join our team at Harvest AI GmbH. As a Backend Developer, you will play a crucial role in designing and developing high-volume data applications that drive business growth and innovation.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and develop scalable and efficient backend systems using Laravel and PHP.
  • Work with cloud technologies, CI/CD pipelines, Docker, GitHub, and Laravel Sail to ensure consistent development environments.
  • Develop and maintain high-quality SQL databases and data formats, including JSON and CSV with metadata.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to plan and execute project migrations across different tech stacks.
  • Ensure data security and integrity through expertise in PostgreSQL setup, configuration, and maintenance.
  • Develop REST APIs and Swagger/OpenAPI documentation.
Requirements
  • Master's or bachelor's degree in computer science, computer engineering, information technologies, or similar.
  • Extensive experience with Laravel and PHP for web application development.
  • Experience using Composer for dependency management.
  • Expertise in cloud technologies, CI/CD pipelines, Docker, GitHub, and Laravel Sail.
  • Strong understanding of SQL databases and data formats, including JSON and CSV with metadata.
  • Expertise in PostgreSQL setup, configuration, and maintenance.
  • Proficiency in Linux (Ubuntu) server administration for reliable and secure operations.
  • Experience in designing and developing high-volume data applications.
  • In-depth experience with REST APIs and Swagger/OpenAPI.
  • Experience with planning and executing project migration across different tech stacks.
  • Proficiency in English.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Knowledge of React and front-end development.
  • Knowledge of AWS, Terraform, and cloud storage solutions (e.g., S3).
  • Experience with Python, Flask, FastAPI.

Harvest AI GmbH is a young and international startup based in Potsdam. We are leveraging our networking with the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) to develop a greenhouse prediction model that uses machine learning and computer vision to predict harvest dates and yields, significantly improving the procedural processes in indoor farms. We are making a positive contribution to combating the world hunger crisis in times of climate change. With the support of the European Union and Brandenburg Kapital, we raised almost EUR 3 million euros in our first round of financing.
