Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Senior Molecular Biologist to join our team at the Robert Bosch Centrum für Tumorerkrankungen. The successful candidate will be responsible for utilizing modern sequencing-based molecular biology approaches to examine transcriptomic and gene regulatory mechanisms controlling tumor- and senescent cell identity and therapy response.

Key Responsibilities

  • Utilize RNA-seq, scRNA-seq, ATAC-seq, and ChIP-seq to examine transcriptomic and gene regulatory mechanisms.
  • Perform bioinformatic analyses and interpretation of data to perform hypothesis testing and generation.
  • Conduct multiplex immunofluorescence staining to confirm gene regulatory mechanisms in primary tumor tissue using multispectral imaging.
  • Prepare histological samples for single cell RNA-sequencing using the 10X Genomics technology.
  • Perform advanced cell culture experiments to examine the effects of drug treatment in various translational model systems.
  • Participate in internal or external research collaborations.
  • Document work procedures, data acquisition, and analyses.

Requirements

  • Master of Science in a related field (biology, molecular biology, biotechnology, bioinformatics, or similar).
  • Experience with cell culture, transfections, stainings, and molecular biology techniques.
  • Extensive molecular biology experience (real-time PCR, Western blot, etc.).
  • Experience with bioinformatic analyses (R, Python).
  • Strong work ethic and high level of self-motivation.
  • Independent, goal-oriented, and structured way of working and ability to work in a team.
  • Confident written and spoken English skills.
