About the Role

We are seeking an experienced robotics engineer to join our portfolio company in Munich. As a key member of our team, you will play a vital role in advancing autonomous capabilities for unmanned ground vehicles and collaborating with a talented team to shape the future of autonomous robotic solutions.

The ideal candidate will have technical expertise in programming languages such as C++ and Python, with experience in ROS (Robot Operating System). Practical experience in path planning, SLAM, and machine learning techniques for robotics is also essential. Additionally, knowledge in integrating and processing data from LiDAR, radar, GPS, and camera sensors is required. Strong analytical skills, with the ability to troubleshoot complex systems both independently and in team settings, are also necessary.

In this role, you will design, implement, and optimize navigation, perception, and planning algorithms for autonomous robotic systems. You will collaborate with Software Engineers, Hardware Engineers, and Data Scientists to ensure efficient integration of autonomy features. You will develop systems for processing and fusing sensor data, including LiDAR, cameras, radar, and GPS, to enable advanced situational awareness. You will perform thorough testing of autonomous systems in both simulation environments and real-world applications to ensure performance, safety, and reliability. Finally, you will document development processes, algorithms, and system configurations for internal teams and external stakeholders.

Your Profile

  • Technical expertise in programming languages such as C++ and Python, with experience in ROS (Robot Operating System)
  • Practical experience in path planning, SLAM, and machine learning techniques for robotics
  • Knowledge in integrating and processing data from LiDAR, radar, GPS, and camera sensors
  • Strong analytical skills, with the ability to troubleshoot complex systems both independently and in team settings
  • Familiarity with version control (e.g., Git), continuous integration, and Agile development methodologies
  • Experience with simulation environments (e.g., Gazebo) and an understanding of cybersecurity principles for autonomous systems is a plus
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Robotics, Computer Science, or a related field
  • Business proficiency in English; and German is a plus
